76ers vs. Heat Score: Jimmy Butler leads Miami to conference finals. Joel Embiid and James Harden Tribe

The Miami Heat advance to the Eastern Conference Finals for the second time in three years, beating the Philadelphia 76ers 99-90 in Game 6 at the Wells Fargo Center on Thursday night. Miami kicked off the third and fourth quarters, scoring massively to extend their lead, while the 76ers struggled aggressively all night behind action-packed Joel Embiid.

Jimmy Butler continued his postseason offense and led the team to a score of 32 points with the usual containment defense. But the real story of Miami was Max Strus, who set the mood early with shooting, passing and rebounding. Struss finished with 20 points and made four 3-pointers. Miami was one step ahead of Philadelphia overnight, and it was spectacular from both ends.

Embiid, who finished with 20 points on 7 of 7 of 24, came out more aggressive but couldn’t stop the Heat’s breathtaking defense. He fell to the floor several times throughout the game and looked noticeably tired with a staggering amount of total time for his level of conditioning. James Harden started off well, but remained silent in the second half, finishing with just 11 points from nine attempts at night.

Heat advances to play with the winner of the Celtics-Bucks series and gets the #1 seed to gain a home court advantage in the conference finals.
