Nikita Dragun’s rep reveals influencer’s prison experience

Nikita Dragun’s publicist Jack Ketsoyan made a statement after the 26-year-old YouTuber was released.

In a statement, Ketsoyan spoke about how the influential person was treated by the Miami-Dade County Department of Corrections while in custody.

“It is extremely unsettling and dangerous for Nikita, a legal woman, to be imprisoned in the men’s ward of a Florida prison,” he said.

He also said, ‘This decision made by the Miami-Dade County Department of Corrections is a direct violation of their protocol. It stipulates that transgender prisoners are classified and housed according to their safety needs and gender identity.’

Ketsoyan said, ‘Nikita is free and now safe. Thank you for respecting her privacy.’

Dragoon was also detained for allegedly causing a fuss at the Goodtime Hotel in South Beach.

She was charged with two misdemeanors, including disorderly conduct and battery. This also included felonies against police officers.

However, in the course of the trial, it was revealed that the content creator had been detained in a prison for men.

In the viral video, Dragun can be seen asking if he should remain in men’s lockup. But the judge replies that he doesn’t make the rules.

Dragoon has been using her pronouns since 2015 in her transition.

Nevertheless, a spokesperson for Nikita Dragun confirmed that the content creator was released from prison on Wednesday after paying a $5,000 security deposit.

Social Media Users React to Authorities Misunderstanding Nikita Dragun

Netizens called this situation transphobia. Although she has a controversial history, several have acknowledged that her human rights should not be so abused.

As one user said, ‘I don’t have to say how much I hate Nikita Dragoon before I sympathize with her incarceration in a men’s prison’.

Another netizen commented, ‘Nikita Dragoon is being imprisoned in a men’s prison and her human rights are being violated. At the moment, I don’t think it’s the key whether you like her personally or not.’

Someone else said, ‘I think it’s important to remind people that Nikita Dragoon was put in a men’s prison, and that this kind of treatment is equivalent to a serial rape sentence for a trans woman.’
