Google has updated the Business Correction Complaint Form. Here Add “This business doesn’t exist” as an option as to why you think the listing is a scam. This provides another way to tell Google why your business listing should be removed from Google Search and Google Maps.
New options added over the last few days can be seen in the form in the screenshot below.
previous option. The previous option was not removed, only “This business does not exist” was added to the existing option containing:
- title
- address
- phone number
- Website
What is the business proofreading form? Google said you can use this form if you “discover misleading information or fraudulent activity on Google Maps regarding a business name, phone number or URL,” Google said. Google “allows you to submit complaints using this form. Complaints submitted through this form will be reviewed in accordance with our guidelines for representing businesses on Google Maps.”
Why we care. Google Maps and local search company listings have a lot of spam and deceptive information. This provides another way to tell Google that certain business listings are fake and should not appear on Google Maps or Google Search.
