Adebayo star of the Heat wins over Celtics


Bam Adebayo emerged as an opportunity for the Heat to manage without Jimmy Butler in the second half.

Bam Adebayo scored 31 points to help the Miami Heat beat the Boston Celtics 109-103 as his team led 2-1 in the Eastern Conference playoff final.

Adebayodo also posted 10 rebounds, 6 assists, and 4 steals.

The Celtics, 26 points behind in one stage, belatedly fell to less than one point to 93-92, but the Heat maintained the points.

“I had to gain weight,” Adebayo said. “My team relied on me for the last few games and I didn’t show up.”

“I locked myself in and took the win.”

Adebayo scored for his team and his star performance was needed by Heat without the influencer Jimmy Butler in the second half due to knee pain.

“He’s a winner.” Heat coach Erik Spoelstra spoke of Adebayo. “He really is the heart and soul of our group. You can always count on him.
