Famous punk and jazz singer Bernard Wright has died at the age of 58. His fellow artist, William S. Patterson, wrote on Facebook: “It is very sad to announce all of Bernard Wright’s death… the composer was very religious by nature…”

“On behalf of the family of Bernard Wright (Nard), we regret to announce that yesterday. Bernardo was called the hometown of the Most High.”

The cause of Bernard’s death is not yet known, and further information about his burial has not been released. Wright, born on November 16, 1963, is a popular funk and jazz keyboardist and vocalist.

He started out as a session musician before releasing four solo albums. He is the son of a Jamaican father and an Italian mother. He studied at New York’s Performing Arts High School as a classmate with novelist Carl Hancock Lux and gospel singer Desiree Coleman Jackson.
