Bus rolls over in Maryland, injuring 27

On Sunday morning, a passenger bus tumbled over, injuring 27 people. The Baltimore County Fire Department said a megabus overturned along Interstate 95 near Kingsville, Maryland just before 7 a.m., leaving 27 people with minor injuries.

BCoFD said the bus was carrying 47 passengers when it crashed. BCoFD said 15 of the 27 injured were taken to local hospitals and 12 refused further treatment.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash and are being investigated by Maryland State Police.

Megabus spokeswoman Dan Rodriguez said in an email that the bus driver was one of 15 people transported to hospital. Some of them have already been released and transportation will be provided to their final destination.

He said the company would conduct a thorough review of what happened, but declined to comment further on the circumstances surrounding the accident.
