The 2022 ESPY Awards Best WWE Moment Goes To Cody Rose
One of the four nominees for the award is Rhodes’ re-entering WWE at WrestleMania 38. Other nominations were WWE Hall of Fame inductee The Undertaker, Steve Austin “Stone Cold” Steve Austin’s devastating Stunners at WrestleMania 38, and Big E’s cash-in for the successful Money the Bank WWE Championship win.
Rhodes was declared the winner at an awards ceremony on July 20th.

The website states that Cody Rose’s appearance at WrestleMania “shocked the WWE world” and is now receiving the WWE Moment of the Year award from ESPY. Rhodes announced the award, giving ESPY Best Comeback Athlete.
American Nightmare defeated 15 other contenders in the public vote to become WWE Moment of the Year in 2022. Undertaker’s WWE Hall of Fame induction, Hell-inducing “Stone Cold” Steve Austin at WrestleMania, and Big E at Raw were three other nominees for the WWE Title.
WWE Global Ambassador Titus O’Neill shone on the red carpet after being nominated for the Muhammad Ali Sports Humanitarian Award last year. Rose isn’t the only WWE representative in Los Angeles.
The immortal showdown between Rhodes and Seth “Freakin” Rollins showcased some memorable moments and won the event’s ESPY award.

What did Cody Rhodes say about the announcement?
At the WWE digital exclusivity, Rhodes hinted at winning the award again by talking about the news and creating another great moment the following year.
After making a comeback defeating Seth Rollins, Rose immediately became a big star on WWE RAW. He defeated Rollins in WrestleMania Backlash in WWE Hell in the Cell. Rhodes tore his pectoral tendon before starting the third game, but persevered despite the setbacks. The following week he had surgery and hasn’t been out since.
