Two clickbait posts sparked the rumors. The first happens on Twitter when a user uploads a tweet that looks like a screenshot from a news outlet with the following message:

“The tragic death of Jim Carrey. Jim Carrey’s Decline in Health: Source. Look at his last words to his family, friends and fans.”

Although the headline surprised some, a quick review of the post revealed that it was nothing more than a clickbait.

“It is with great regret that RIP comedy legend Jim Carrey reports the death of a loved one.”

In fact, the film tells the story of Carey’s close comedian Bob Saget, who died of brain damage on January 9, 2022.

Carrey’s death has not been reported by reliable sources, so it is reasonable to assume that he is still alive and healthy.

In September 2017, the actor appeared as a guest star on the YouTube podcast TIFF Originals.

Jim Carrey talked about his depression.

During the conversation, Carrey made up the whole image so people wouldn’t worry, and he revealed that Jim Carrey was just one of the many characters he portrayed. “I thought it was just a work that made people happy, but when I saw it, it became a character. He also discussed depression and provided his own comparison of how it differs from sadness. He said sadness is your body’s way of saying you don’t want to be the character you make up anymore, and depression is your body’s way of saying you don’t want the character you make up anymore.

In an interview with Variety in April 2022, the actor revealed that he thought he had done enough and would like to devote time to other interests, such as painting. He also discussed his intentions to sell NFTs. However, Carrey has said that his retirement is not confirmed and that he will be able to redo what he deems essential to him in the future.

The actor most recently appeared in Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and Dirty Daddy: The Bob Saget Tribute on Netflix.
