The 29-year-old star went on to say, ‘When I was faced with the choice of going into the bathroom, when I said female and male, I didn’t feel like there was a bathroom. necessarily like a woman.’

She continued, ‘I didn’t feel like a man. I just felt like a human. And that’s about them/them. To me, it’s about feeling human at your core.’

In response, the former Disney actress said, “I’ve recently become more feminine and adopted again. But the important thing is that no one is perfect.”

‘Everyone messes with pronouns at some point,’ she added, ‘and it’s just respect, especially when learning.’

Interviews with Lovato and Dhia have been over a year since they came out non-binary in May 2021.

She also confirmed that ‘in the meantime, I will officially change the pronoun to the/thes’.

Lovato continued, ‘This is a work that came after a lot of healing and reflection. I want to make it clear that I am still learning and reaching out to myself. I claim to be no expert or spokesperson. Sharing this with you now opens another level of vulnerability for me.’
