Dubai established a committee to solidify its position as a ‘core city of the metaverse’

Dubai’s rulers have created a commission to track the latest developments in the digital economy. The commission is also expected to bolster the efforts of rulers to make Dubai a “core city in the metaverse”.

Dubai’s Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Deputy Prime Minister Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum said: Reviewing trends and the latest developments in the digital economy.”

According to Sheikh Hamdan, the creation of the task force will help Dubai’s efforts to become “the heart of the metaverse”. The Crown Prince said, praising the decision of the country’s rulers to make Dubai a leader in the metaverse race.

Metaverse’s contribution to Dubai’s economy

Sheikh Hamdan, who also chairs the Dubai Executive Council (DEC), said the task force is already working on “the key pillars and goals of the Dubai Metaverse Strategy”. According to the report, Metaverse’s business revenue is expected to surge from $180 billion today to $400 billion by 2025.
