Elon Musk denies affair with wife of Google co-founder Sergey Brin

Elon Musk has been embroiled in another controversy after reports of an affair with Nicole Shanahan, wife of Google co-founder Sergey Brin.

Nevertheless, the billionaire took to Twitter to respond to a post describing the sleazy story in the Wall Street Journal.

The 51-year-old SpaceX CEO said, ‘It’s completely BS. Sergey and I are friends and we were at a party together last night! I’ve only seen Nicole twice in three years. Both times I was with many other people around. It’s not romantic.’

In a follow-up tweet, he claimed, “I haven’t had sex in a long time (sigh).”

Musk’s response comes after reports emerged that the Google founder knelt before Brin at a party earlier this year and asked for forgiveness after learning that the Tesla founder had an affair with his wife.

What’s more, the article caused Brin to file for divorce, and the incident severed Musk’s long-standing friendship.

In addition, Brin told his advisors to liquidate his shares in Musk’s business.

However, Musk wrote in a separate tweet that ‘WSJ [Wall Street Journal] I lost count by running so many bs hits on me and my Tesla.

Frankly, I’m ashamed of them.’

He also vehemently criticized the outlet and urged his followers to do the same.

Musk said, ‘The WSJ should have high standards for journalism, and for now it’s sub-tabloid. WSJ should tell stories that are really important to their readers and have a solid fact-based basis, not random gossip from third parties.’

Sergey Brin divorce case

According to the Wall Street Journal, Musk had a brief affair with lawyer Nicole Shanahan in Miami’s Art Basel in December last year.

Media outlets claimed that Sergey Brin filed for divorce in January shortly after the multi-star event.

Brin cited ‘irreconcilable differences’ as the reason for the divorce, but the Wall Street Journal says otherwise.

The article also noted that Brin and Shanahan are facing some marriage problems in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic. The former couple are said to have been constantly arguing over custody of their 4-year-old daughter.
