After Taylor Hawkins’ death, his fans missed him as the drummer for Foo Fighters. But on a recent Saturday, Foo Fighters captivated everyone with a show featuring a special drummer on Taylor’s behalf.
Taylor Hawkins’ son Oliver Shane Hawkins Play the drums on “My Hero”
This Saturday was one of the shows Foo Fighters performed. The band introduced a new special drummer to play during the show. At Wembley Stadium in London, Pooh Fighters’ national anthem My Hero was played. But before the song starts, black and white photos of Taylor Hawkins and Shane Hawkins are shown on the screen.
In the song “My Hero”, Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl introduced everything that night with Oliver Shane Hawkins’ new drummer. Shane is Taylor’s 16-year-old son. Dave went on to perform the My Hero song. Shane played the drums to pay tribute to her deceased father.

When Oliver Shane Hawkins played drums, Dave kept saying he had never seen anyone drum this hard. The event in London didn’t have Shane Hawkins and Foo Fighters to light the stage. Rather, there were Travis Barker, Kesha, Paul McCartney and Wolfgang Van Halen.
Also, aside from a tribute to Taylor Hawkins this Saturday, the Foo Fighters are planning another tribute. Another tribute to Taylor Hawkins will be at the Hunger Forum on September 27 this year.
