Some of Taylor Swift’s fans suspect that she is the author of a sapphire poem called Lavender Haze.
Here’s everything you need to know.
Lavender Haze Controversy Explained
Taylor Swift released her most awaited studio album Midnight on October 21st. While the album is breaking several records, the song ‘Lavender Haze’ is receiving considerable attention from netizens.
Social media users have speculated that Swift wrote a book called The Lavender Haze: Sapphic Poems under the pseudonym June Bates.
It is important to note that there is no concrete evidence to confirm that the Style singer is actually the author of the book of poetry.
Still, fans have put forward some theories that suggest the 32-year-old star wrote the book.
Many fans noted that the book was released three days before Swift’s latest album on October 21st. Also, they argued for obvious similarities between the anthology title and Swift’s Midnight’s opening track.
Meanwhile, others have pointed to June Bates’ biography, which mentions that one of her hobbies is listening to Taylor Swift.

Taylor Swift talks about Lavender Haze.
Taylor Swift has revealed in a previous interview Lavender Haze’s relationship with boyfriend Joe Alwyn of six years.
She went further and shared details about the origin and meaning of the phrase on her Instagram.
The pop star happened to see the phrase ‘Lavender Fog’ while watching Mad Man. I thought it would be cool so I looked it up. And it turned out to be a common expression used in the ’50s to describe them falling in love.
Swift goes on to say, ‘If you’re in the ‘lavender mist’ it means you’re in the light of all-encompassing love. And I thought it was really beautiful.’
She also said the song ignores the way social media sometimes distorts the story of ‘public’, especially private life.
Swift said, “I think a lot of people who aren’t ‘public’ now have to deal with this because we live in the age of social media. They’re going to put their weight on it.’
She continued, ‘I had to avoid strange rumors and tabloid articles like 6 years of dating and just ignored it. So this song is about the act of ignoring things to protect the real thing.’
