Kanye West and Gap Collaboration

Kanye West and Gap’s history dates back to the singer’s college dropout record when he worked as a retail employee for the company.

The Yeezy Gap collaboration was first announced in the summer of 2020. Mark Breitbard, then Global Head of Gap, said the partnership will provide a ‘next-generation’ experience for customers.

Breitbard goes on to say, ‘We are delighted to see Kanye rejoining the Gap product line as a creative pioneer in defining retail partnerships to the next level, built on the aesthetics and success of the YEEZY brand.’

Over the next few years, Breitbard’s statements have proven to be accurate predictions with several subsequent successes.

One of them involved the long-discussed release of the Perfect Hoodie. ‘Creative Exploration’ by Easy, Gap and Balenciaga was also released.

A few days before the Yeezy Gap was announced, West claimed that the black colorway of the raven mentioned above was ‘sold worth $14 million in one TV commercial’.
