Kanye West debuts at Balenciaga’s muddy Paris Fashion Week

Kanye West hit the runway on the weekend of Sunday, October 2nd at Balenciaga’s show. The show’s official title is ‘Balenciaga’s Apocalyptic, Mud-Filled SS23’.

West, now known as Ye, kicked off the brand’s apocalyptic-themed show with an all-black and battle-ready outfit.

Moreover, the 45-year-old founder of Yeezy wore an oversized, sturdy utility vest with the words ‘security’ patched on both sides. He also matched a baseball cap over leather pants and a hoodie.

The runway, on the other hand, was staged outdoors at the city’s Parc des Expositions. It was said to have been drenched in ankle-deep piles of mud and sludge.

In addition, four children, North (9), Saint (6), Chicago (4) and Psalm (3), shared with Kim Kardashian, ex-wife of Pablo Hitmaker, attended and cheered for him.

Other notable celebrities in attendance include Kardashian’s sisters Kylie Jenner and Khloe Kardashian. In addition, Dojacat, Euphoria star Alexa Demi, and reality star Kristen Quinn were also included in the crowd.

Balenciaga’s creative director talks about the muddy catwalk.

Balenciaga’s creative director, Demna Gvasalia, spoke candidly about the unique vision of the Spanish fashion house in an interview.

“I’ve decided not to describe the collection and put the design into words anymore, but to express my state of mind,” he insisted.

He continued, ‘Fashion is a visual art, and all we need is to be seen through someone’s eyes. In the best-case scenario, fashion doesn’t need a story to sell to anyone. You either like it or you don’t. The set of this show is a metaphor for uncovering the truth and going down to the ground.’

Next, Creative said, ‘It’s not a war, let’s be everyone and love.’

Gvasalia spoke more about Bella Hadid’s ‘bruised and beaten’ appearance while she glided down the runway.

“It takes courage and persistence to truly accept who you are and who you are,” he said.

He continued, “The challenge is to get up and walk towards your true self after being beaten and falling.”
