Kate McKinnon recently sat down with Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest for an episode of the show Live With Kelly and Ryan via ET.

In an interview, the actress revealed the real reason she left Saturday Night Live after appearing on the show for nearly a decade.

She said her decision to leave the show was not easy.

‘I thought about it for a very long time, and it was very, very difficult,’ McKinnon said in an interview.

She continued, ‘What I wanted to do for the rest of my life was ‘Saturday Night Live’. So I loved it and had the best decade, then I felt as if my body was tired and the time had come.’

McKinnon also revealed that he will not watch Saturday Night Live yet, despite the uncertain future of the industry.

She said, ‘I don’t know what I’m going to do. I miss everyone so much that I’m so emotional that I don’t know if I’ll be able to watch the show yet.’

The 38-year-old comedian is unsure about watching the show for the emotions it will bring, as he has built friendships with the cast.

Then she said, ‘It’s my family. It’s too emotional. So I’m just going to take a picture of ‘bachelor’ and see.’

Kate McKinnon joined Saturday Night Live in 2012. She has won two Emmy Awards for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series.

Moreover, she is trying to win her third title. McKinnon was nominated for the 74th Annual Emmy Awards, scheduled for September 12.

Beginning in May of this year, rumors started circulating that McKinnon would not be joining the legendary sketch series for season 48. The news was later confirmed by the actress herself, as she announced she was leaving the show.

McKinnon said goodbye to the final episode of season 47. She ended the long series with her fellow cast members Aidy Bryant, Kyle Mooney and Pete Davidson.
