Katy Perry calls for support of anti-abortion activist Rick Caruso

Katy Perry has been accused of being a hypocrite after tweeting about her frustration with the recent Roe v. Wade decision.

Here’s everything you need to know.

Katy Perry drew her pro-choice tweet.

Over the holiday weekend, Katy Perry played the controversial Roe v. She shared her stance on the court’s ruling that overturned Wade’s case on her Twitter.

The 37-year-old singer refers to her hit song Firework, where ‘Baby you’re firework’ is 10, but an American woman has fewer rights than a real sparkler smh.

However, for publicly speaking supportive of Los Angeles Mayor Rick Caruso, he was criticized instead of praised.

Planned Parents, a nonprofit for reproductive health, wrote to the mayor in May of this year.

They noted that witnessing Caruso’s ‘long-standing support for anti-choice individuals and organizations’ was ‘deep anxiety’.

Netizens called him before the billionaire, saying he supported singer Roar, who was against the right to abortion.

The Grammy-nominated artist campaigned for Hillary Clinton in 2016 as an outspoken Democrat. She also performed at the inauguration of President Joe Biden in January 2021.

Fans React to Katy Perry’s Tweet

Fans were not impressed by Katy Perry’s tweet. They responded to her tweet supporting her singer’s choice by branding her as ‘her hypocrite’.

Users argued that the star should do ‘a little more research’ before supporting the ‘anti-abortionist’.

One user commented, ‘But did you support Rick Caruso, who donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to Republicans and anti-abortion candidates?’

Another said, ‘Are you trying to set this time exactly one month after you tweeted your support for an anti-abortion candidate?’

Another fan urged people to Perry’s message as a ‘reminder’ that ‘popular girl bosses like Katy Perry and Gwyneth Paltrow, who are currently posting about reproductive rights, have endorsed Rick Caruso as mayoral candidate.’

Other celebrities protested at Ro v Wade on Independence Day.

Oscar-winning actress Jessica Chastain has posted a mocking photo of her middle finger up.

She outlined the post with the caption: ‘Congratulations on ‘Independence Day’ from me and my reproductive rights.”

Billie Eilish’s brother Finneas said, ‘The 4th of July is my favorite day of the year. But I’m not sure if there’s anything to celebrate this year.’

Unlike other celebrities, Kim Kardashian showed off her stance on the reversal of Roe vs Wade through an Instagram story.
