Law and order actress Mary Mara dies at 61, likely drowning in New York river

Actress Mary Mara has unfortunately passed away. Her manager confirmed that she died on Sunday.

New York State Police said Mara drowned in the St. Lawrence River while swimming. She was 61 years old.

New York State police received a call about a possible drowning in the town of Cape Vincent, where Mary Mara lived, around 8 a.m. local time on Sunday, according to a police report.

When they arrived at the scene, police found her dead body in the water. According to reports, there were no signs of foul play on her body.

A spokesperson for Mara told Fox News Digital that ‘Mary’s body was found this morning in her beloved St. It was found in the Lawrence River.’

“She drowned while swimming,” they added.

Authorities claim that Mara visited her sister’s summer home in front of the St. Lawrence River when she jumped into the river for exercise.

Nevertheless, an autopsy will be performed at the Jefferson County Coroner’s office to establish an official cause of death.

An investigation into her tragic death is ongoing.

Mara has an ex-husband and a stepdaughter.
