McConnell and GOP Senator Visit Zelenskyy, Ukraine

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and Senators Susan Collins, John Cornyn and John Barrasso visited Kyiv to meet Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky.

The U.S. embassy tweeted about the senators’ visit to Ukraine on Saturday, posting a video of their meeting with Zelensky.

The translated tweet told the senators “Welcome to Ukraine. We are with Ukraine.”

The Senate visited Ukraine days before the Senate is expected to pass a $40 billion military and humanitarian aid package to Ukraine. The bill has bipartisan support and has already been passed in the House of Representatives.
