Abe Hironobu is a Japanese well known as the older brother of Shinzo Abe. Additionally, Hironobu Abe became president and CEO of Mitsubishi Shoji Packaging Corporation, and his younger brother Nobuo Kishi became Senior Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs. Shinzo Abe is also a Japanese politician who served as Japanese Prime Minister from 2006 to 2007 and from 2012 to 2020 as president of the Liberal Democratic Party.
Abe was Japan’s longest-serving prime minister. Abe served as Chief Cabinet Secretary of the government of Junichiro Koizumi from 2005 to 2006, and briefly served as opposition leader in 2012. Hironobu Abe is the older brother of the current Prime Minister of Japan, Shinzo Abe. He also served as Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan from 2007 to 2008. Abe was born on September 21, 1954 in Tokyo, Japan. He attended Keio University and received his Master of Public Administration degree from Harvard University.
After returning to Japan, Prime Minister Abe worked at the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI), which is now the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI). He has since served as the Secretary General of the Japan Trade Association (JETRO). In 2007, Abe was appointed Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry.
He held this position until 2008, but resigned after controversy over his involvement in the land transaction. Prime Minister Abe has been working as a management consultant since leaving his political career. He is also chairman of the board of directors of Tokio Marine Holdings, Japan’s largest insurance company.

Abe Hironobu’s maternal grandfather, Kishi Nobusuke, was the de facto “economic king” of Manchukuo, a puppet state of China and North China before the outbreak of World War II, and served as the deputy minister of logistics during the war. The Cabinet of Hideki Tojo.
He attended Seikei Elementary School and Seikei Middle School. He studied public administration and earned a BA in Political Science from Seikei University in 1977. He later moved to the United States to study public policy for three semesters at the University of Southern California’s School of Policy Planning and Development.
In April 1979, Abe started working at Kobe Steel. He resigned from the company in 1982 and held several public posts, including Chief of Staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Secretary of the General Board of Directors of the Liberal Democratic Party, and Secretary of the Secretary-General of the Liberal Democratic Party.
