Nicki Minaj and Lato exchanged insults on Twitter.

Nicki Minaj and Lato chatted online after criticizing the Grammy Award for listing her ‘Super Freaky Girl’ in the pop category instead of the rap category.

Here’s everything you need to know.

Nicki Minaj attends the Grammys

Nicki Minaj joined Latto in the drama after reports that her single ‘Super Freaky Girl’ would not be considered for hip-hop at the Grammys. Rather, it will be nominated for Best Pop Solo Performance.

Also, rumors circulate that Latto’s hit ‘Big Energy’ is being considered for at least one rap category at the recording academy.

She said, ‘Come on, let’s say ‘Super Freaky Girl’ is a pop song. Let’s just say that. what is [Latto’s] ‘Big Energy’? If you move ‘Super Freaky Girl’ from the rap and put it in the pop, do the same for ‘Big Energy’.

He said, ‘Both songs are from the same producer. So let’s be fair.’

The 39-year-old rapper said in one of his tweets, ‘If SFG moves 2B to RAP, so does Big Energy! ANY1 talking diff simply hates Nicky or is a troll.’

Later, when a fan said that lato was ‘sometimes called pop’, Minaj replied ‘yes’.

Beef Blast Between Nicki Minaj and Latto

Latto used his Twitter account to indirectly respond to Nicki Minaj’s allegations.

She said, ‘Damn, I can’t win against losing…

Meanwhile, shortly after, Minaj shared a screen capture of an exchange revealing that the artist was using the Super Bass artist’s name to prove the point.

She also wrote in the post, ‘This Karen must have mentioned my name in over 100 interviews. She said she was waiting in line for Pink Friday. She wears a Barbie necklace, has bangs, has pink hair… Rather than representing the black woman who inspired her the most.’

The 23-year-old hitmaker, on the other hand, applauded. She said in her latest tweet that Minaj was talking about her.

She said, ‘First of all, I texted you because I didn’t want to do sht w sum1 on the internet. Just like the first time I DM you asking about a sub-tweet in progress.’

Latto continued, ‘I wanted to say it like I said I agree, but the action seems malicious. How we left.’
