passenger "i don’t know how" The plane landed in Cessna at a Florida airport after the pilot had a medical emergency.

The FAA said an inexperienced passenger landed the plane safely in Florida on Tuesday after the pilot had a medical emergency.

Dramatic audio between passengers and air traffic controllers revealed tense moments before the single-engine Cessna 208 landed at Palm Beach International Airport.

In audio obtained by CBS News, an unidentified passenger can be heard saying, “Here’s something serious. My pilot was inconsistent. I don’t know how to fly the plane.”

“Roger. What is your position?” The controller responds.

“I don’t know. I see the Florida coast in front of me, and I’m not sure,” said the passenger.

The controller can hear passengers instructing them to “keep the wings high” and “follow the shore north or south”.

Minutes later, air traffic controllers were able to find the plane on radar and guide passengers how to land the small plane.

The Palm Beach County Fire Department said in a statement that “the plane landed safely and one patient was transported to a nearby hospital.”

There was no mention of the pilot’s name or condition. There were only two people on the plane.

The FAA said it would investigate the incident.
