Philip Rosenthal was born on January 27, 1960 in Queens, New York to Helen Rosenthal and Max Rosenthal. He spent most of his childhood in New City, New York, located in Rockland County. He belongs to a Jewish family. In terms of his studies, he attended Clarkstown North High School, where he participated in the school’s drama club. He graduated from high school on a scholarship in 1977 and Hofstra University in 1981.
