The tragic news of Paul Poloczek was first confirmed by his wife, Katherin DeNev. She shared the heartbreaking news in a touching post on social media over the weekend.
DeNev shared a message on his Instagram on May 28 with a black ribbon and a photo of Poloczek. ‘Bodybuilding was your life,’ she said. You are unforgettable and live in our hearts. We will love you forever.’
She went further and wrote, ‘I love you, baby.’
The cause of his death remains a mystery to this day.
Who was Paul Polochek?
Paul Poloczek was originally born in Poland. However, he spent most of his life in Germany.
Poloczek first got into weightlifting after challenging himself as a footballer as a teenager.
In 2002 he joined the famous Powerhouse Gym franchise based in Germany. He later became the owner of the gym.
After a year of bodybuilder training, the champion won her first championship at the age of 17. He won the Junior Championship bodybuilding competition.
Soon after, he took part in several other tournaments, winning most of them.
A few years later, in 2012, the Polish bodybuilder finished second in the German Super Heavyweight Championship.
He also won the 2017 Arnold Classic Amateur Championship in Ohio, USA. She got a pro card shortly after.
He has a partner, Katherin DeNev, and a young daughter.
