Since David Muir’s private life is private, fans were shocked when he released a family album and released a picture of his father. The World New Tonight anchor recently delighted avid Instagram followers with a photo of her childhood.

Ronald Muir is the father of ABC News anchor David Muir. Not much is known about Ronald because he maintains a low profile and doesn’t talk much with the media. However, we do know that he is a retired teacher and was born in New York State in 1948. He has three children, David the eldest.

Ronald should be proud of his son’s achievements. David has won several Emmys and is one of the most popular news anchors on television today. In 2015, he was named “Most Trusted Television News Person” in Reader’s Digest poll. We don’t know much about Ronald Muir, but I’m sure he’s a lovely person.

David Muir family

David Muir was born and raised in Onondaga Heights, New York, to a Roman Catholic family. He has one older brother, two stepsisters, six nephews and three nieces.

He cited Peter Jennings, longtime anchor on ABC News’ flagship program, as the most important journalistic influence in his youth. He graduated from Onondaga Central Middle School in May 1991 and attended local Ithaca College, graduating with honors in May 1995 with a BA in Journalism.

He started out as a reporter for WFTV-TV in Orlando, Florida. While in college, he was inspired by a professor who called him “the physique of a television newsman.” He studied abroad for one semester at the Institute for International Student Education at the University of Salamanca in Spain and at the Institute for Political Journalism at Georgetown University for one semester.
