From Court to Catwalk Serena Williams showed off the Vogue World runway show Monday during New York Fashion Week, pairing a metallic silver Balenciaga outfit with a floor-length cape. While Williams’ memorable 2000 NBC interview played in the background, she joined the four ‘Ball Girls’ in white tennis outfits and holding racquets. I want people to remember me as the girl who changed tennis or to have the option to bring something new to the game, she said in the clip. Her inclusion at the event was confirmed as Selena Williams announced in a cover article for Vogue’s September issue that she was quitting tennis to focus on her family. She adorns her magazines in a powder blue Balenciaga outfit and joins her daughter Olympia.
It may not be Selena William’s first runway moment, but it is said to have made her debut at the Fall 2022 Off-White Show following a stunning pass from designer Virgil Abloh. She joined some pretty significant names on the Vogue World fashion show. Gigi Hadid and Bella Hadid, Kendall Jenner, Emily Ratajkowski, Irina Shayk, Lila Greenery, Helena Christensen, Shalom Harlow and Karlie Kloss have all been exhibited up close with celebrities such as Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz, Mikhail Baryshnikov and Erykah Badu.
