Shawn Mendes pauses tour to focus on mental health
Singer ‘Senorita’, 23, announced on Friday that they would postpone their Wonder Globe tour.
It is unspeakably heartbreaking, he wrote, as the show for the next three weeks in Uncasville, Connecticut, will have to be postponed until further notice.
He has been touring since he was 15 and said being away from friends and family has always been difficult.
Shawn must recover and take care of herself.
“After talking to the team and the medical staff, above all else, I need time to rest and take care of my mental health. We’ll let you know as soon as there are new developments. I love you guys,” he said at last.
On June 27, Mendes began their global tour in Portland, Oregon to promote their 2020 album Wonder.
On Saturday, the tour was scheduled to continue in St. Paul, Minnesota. His last performance in Uncasville, Connecticut was postponed to July 29.
The Grammy-nominated musician has been posting candid Instagram posts since December, telling fans, “I’m having a hard time with social media right now.”
It breaks my heart to say that Shawn Mendes has reached the threshold. Postponing the three-week trip must have been a very difficult decision. I want him to know that he is so loved. His mental health comes first. That’s all we really care about. @ShawnMendes I love you. take care of you
