Paramount+ recently revealed the release date and new poster for season 3 of the popular animated series Star Trek: Lower Decks. Following on from the live-action show’s past release date examples, Star Trek: Lower Decks returns every Thursday with 10 episodes on Paramount+.
Star Trek: Lower Decks follows the adventures of the lower cavalry of USS Cerritos, a sort of Starfleet official who is not guaranteed to get front and center attention in most ‘Trek’ stories.
Quickly gaining a loyal fan base thanks to its smooth ‘Rick and Morty’ style animations and contemptuous wit, ‘Star Trek: Lower Decks’ towers over as the default Trekkies look. Fortunately, fans don’t have to wait much longer for the third season of the ongoing show. Here’s everything we know about the Star Trek: Lower Decks release date, poster, and some interesting clues, cast, and hints about how the story will unfold.
Star Trek: Lower Deck release date
Star Trek: Lower Decks first appeared in August 2020 as the debut season of the 10-episode. Season 2 quickly gained approval, and exactly a year later, another ten-episode season followed. Viewers will be delighted to know that season 3 will continue to follow the precedent set over the previous two seasons.
A lot of Star Trek is coming. A release date is no longer known. The lower deck was started in August for the previous season. So there is hope that they will do that again in season 3.

As Paramount+ reported, the season 3 debut is set to make a big hit on Thursday, August 25, 2022. As a result, new episodes will be made available to stream on the streaming service every Thursday, with an additional 10 full episodes. Star Trek: Lower Decks Season 3 is available to subscribers of the Paramount+ streaming service, filled with an all-in-one resource for all ‘Trek’ related issues.
Star Trek: Lower Deck new poster
Alongside the release date, Paramount+ has released a new poster for season 3 that includes a stunning photo of Lieutenant Rutherford’s head, focusing blue and pink light through the galaxy. Below Rutherford is a raucous group of underclassmen with Beckett Mariner in front and Ensign Tendi and Brad Boimler beside them.
Best of all, the USS Cerritos feels like a clash with the Klingon Birds of Prey. The new poster radiates a blend of Star Trek: The Next Generation energy and Star Trek: Motion Picture. The composition of the poster is reminiscent of the first original movie, while Rutherford’s photos have a similar feel to the TNG episode ‘Nth Degree’, in which Reginald Barclay connects to the PC. This could reveal what’s going on with Rutherford’s cybernetic gut. He has now lost much of his memory.
What are the animated series about?
Star Trek: Lower Decks is an blasphemous and entertaining experience into the universe of Star Trek that allows fans to investigate this incredible facility through a often overlooked lens of humor. Surprisingly, the live-action show takes us on a wild space adventure through the eyes of the bridge team, but the Lower Decks take us to the lower parts of the leadership level, giving us a clever jinx that only the ensigns and cadets can see. Beckett, Boimler, Tendi and Rutherford will surely burst into laughter as they grapple with all the hardships that come with being a ‘low decker’.
