LOS ANGELES — Corey Knebel was rocking on the edge of disaster. again.
A similar scenario somehow recurred exactly one week after the Phillies bullpen missed the six-run ninth lead and there was Meltdown in which Knebel played a central role.
The Phillies were able to breathe at Dodger Stadium on Thursday night in their fourth straight game opener. They won 9-7 against the Dodgers, but not until the terrible moment came.
The Dodgers gave the Phillies 7-7 with four runs in the bottom of the eighth inning. Philadelphia took the 9-7 lead in the lead in the bottom of the ninth with a rough pitch and help from a Bryce Harper sacrifice fly, but saw the Dodgers load a stolen base against Knebel without an out late in the inning.
Knebel gathered to get three flyouts. One to the right, one to the left, and the last one to the center. as they painted it.
