Texas football is not Alabama, so it could make Arch Manning a good fit for the Longhorns.

If the arch manning The hiring decision for a five-star quarterback prospect should be simple if you want to win the National Championship, be surrounded by NFL talent of the future, and be in the best position to join an established powerhouse. Choose Alabama or Georgia.

But if he wants to sculpt his legacy, The First Family of SEC Football Lame-duck Big 12 school is your choice.

If Manning could bring Texas “Back”, that narrative will spark what his grandfather Archie and uncle Peyton or Eli achieved during an outstanding career in the SEC.

The tea leaves indicate Longhorn is in a good position at the Manning sweepstakes. On3.com lists Texas. Isidore Newman’s rising senior position in New Orleans is a frontrunner in Manning’s promises, although he rarely speaks publicly to distinguish Texas from the SEC’s superpowers, ahead of Georgia and Alabama.

Arch Manning:‘Athens is probably the best university city’

There is no wrong choice here.

Manning is the highest rated player in the 2023 Recruiting Class. Regardless of his college choice, he’s on his way to the NFL.

In Alabama and Georgia, Manning was tasked with entering a strong program and continuing its success.

Once a dynasty known for defense and dumb tailbacks, the Alabama quarterback is second to none today. Alabama’s Bryce Young is the current Heisman Trophy winner and will be drafted early with the first overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. Alabama’s two former quarterbacks, Mac Jones and Tua Tagovailoa, became the first-round draft picks.

But Alabama was never about one player and Manning had a great career but still couldn’t establish himself at a higher level than Tagovailoa, Jones or Young.

The reigning national champion Georgia has emerged as a twin power within the SEC. As with Alabama, signing with the Bulldogs will leave Manning surrounded by elite talent, but defense is the calling card of coach Kirby Smart’s program.

Meanwhile, Texas ended the season with a 5-7 record. The Longhorns never made the college football playoffs and have only drafted two quarterbacks since Vince Young became the first-round pick in 2006. No Texas attacking player has been drafted in the first round since Young.

What better way for Manning to get out of the shadows of his grandfather and uncle and rebuild Texas as a nation?

By the time Manning’s junior season comes, Texas will be in the SEC. When Texas A&M debuted with the SEC in 2012, Johnny Manziel ensured Aggies’ spectacular arrival. Manning could have a similar effect on Longhorns’ SEC debut.

For the Manning family, joining an existing elite has never been a prerequisite.

consider Peyton Manning’s Tennessee Choice. He paved his way and signed as part of Vols’ 1994 recruiting class. This class was a turning point for UT’s success in the 90s.

Peyton worked with Tennessee’s then-aggressive coordinator, David Cutcliff, throughout his hiring and career. Eli later played for Cutcliff while coaching Miss Ole.

In comparison, Archie Manning faced Steve Sakissian, who is starting his second season as a Texas coach after spending two seasons as Alabama’s attacking coordinator.

“Obviously he’s a coach freak with what he’s done in Alabama and the Falcons and everywhere else.” Arch Manning told 247Sports. last year. “He knows how to coach a quarterback. He’s actually a really nice guy, he can really afford it and I like him a lot.”

Like Sarkisian, Alabama attacking coordinator Bill O’Brien boasts NFL experience. However, given the speed at which Tide cycles through aggressive coordinators, the chances of O’Brien being in Alabama in 2023 are unlikely to outperform a toss of a coin.

As a quarterback at BYU, Sarkisian doesn’t have a track record of success like Alabama manager Nick Saban or Smart. Alcohol problems forced Sarkisian to work for Southern Cal in 2015. But he was always with the quarterback. Sarkisian was drafted in the first round by six of the quarterbacks he worked with as an assistant at USC or Alabama.

Texas football today cannot be compared to Alabama or Georgia. Since 2010, the Longhorns have had five defeat seasons and one ten-win season.

It may be part of the appeal.

Texas will give Manning more space to portray himself as the savior of the Sleeping Programme.
