Locals are nervous as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may move to Santa Barbara’s exclusive Hope Ranch community.
Here’s everything you need to know.
Are Prince Harry and Meghan Markle moving into a new home?
On October 3, it was reported that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were looking for a new mansion in the affluent private community of Hope Ranch, California. They are known to be looking for a quiet community for themselves and their two children.
However, not everyone was impressed by the potential of the royal couple’s community.
Insiders associated with Hope Ranch’s Homeowners’ Association (HOA) told TMZ that many families living there are nervous about Harry and Meghan’s move.
After that, they worry about the luggage that comes with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
The sources also claimed that some residents were concerned that Sussexes would disrupt their quiet and highly private lives.
They also added that Harry and Meghan’s move could cause real problems because it’s famous and controversial.
Other reasons suggested by residents of Hope Ranch
Residents of Santa Barbara are reportedly arguing that one of the reasons Prince Harry and Meghan Markle don’t want to move to Hope Ranch is the traffic.
They mentioned that paparazzi would always flock to the area to take their pictures. So it can be a problem for kids playing or walking to school.
Additionally, traffic congestion was a problem because the roads in the Santa Barbara area are quite narrow and winding. However, residents have been trying to protect the place from the influx of cars for nearly a decade.
Besides, Hope Ranch is already home to some wealthy people. But none of them are as famous as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
Meanwhile, the royal family’s current Montecito neighbors claim that Harry and Meghan have no problem living nearby.
Three neighbors living near Sussex say not much has changed since the controversial couple decided to move into their neighborhood over the past few years.
They also expressed indifference to the couple’s decision to leave or remain, citing that many celebrities live in the area. So it doesn’t really matter.
Among the residents of Montecito are Katy Perry, Adam Levine, Ellen DeGeneres, and Jennifer Aniston.
