He was one of the biggest names in the fitness world and was generally known for his nerdy demeanor and glamorous lifestyle.

The show’s synopsis is: ‘Examine why beloved fitness icon Richard Simmons has been invisible for more than eight years. TMZ by Bruce Villanch, Suzanne Somers, Dr. Phil speaks with those closest to him, including Leslie Wilshire, Simmons’ longtime costume designer.’

Simmons reportedly disappeared from the spotlight in 2014. Moreover, it has been nearly eight years since neither the media nor the paparazzi caught him.

Richard Simmons’ brother Lenny came out as a spokesperson to reveal that the fitness pro likes to be alone.

He further clarified the rumors about Simmons in an interview with People Magazine in 2017.

Lenny said, ‘It doesn’t hurt. He has no medical problems. These things about him turning into a woman are ridiculous. My wife Kathy and I went out for Christmas and spent 5 days with him. And you can bet. He is not converting to anything other than himself.’
