Tory Lanez’s attorney asks for a postponement of the trial date in Megan Thee Stallion’s case.
According to Rolling Stone senior reporter Nancy Dillon, Tory Laneige did not attend the pre-trial hearing. It was held in Los Angeles Court on Thursday, July 28.
However, while the lawsuit was ongoing, the rapper’s lawyer, Shawn Holley, requested a postponement of the trial date, originally scheduled for September 14. In an unrelated incident suspected of involving Megan Thee Stallion, he said the reason was a ‘potential clash’.
Dillon has taken to Twitter to provide an update on the Lanez hearing. She said, ‘Tori wasn’t present. His lawyer has requested that the 9/14 trial be postponed due to potential clashes with an unrelated case she is ongoing in Megan Thee Stallion’s assault case. The judge called interfering with the trial ‘premature’. Please go back to 8/12 and see if the conflict is resolved.’
That is, the judge neither granted nor denied the lawyer’s request.
Also, all parties must appear in court on August 12 when the judge decides whether the conflict has been resolved. They will also decide whether to postpone the trial.
