Travis Barker’s recent health problems came after two months of being hospitalized for pancreatitis in late June. The disease was caused by inflammation of the pancreas.
The 46-year-old shared his experiences when he was discharged on his Instagram story.
Barker mentioned that he went to a medical facility for routine procedures. However, during the operation, one of the pancreatic drainage tubes was damaged.
The father of the two children said, ‘I was in a good mood on Monday, so I went to get my endoscopy. However, after dinner I developed excruciating pain and have been hospitalized ever since.’
He also said, ‘During the endoscopy, a very small polyp was removed in a very sensitive area, which is usually what a specialist would do, but unfortunately an important pancreatic drainage duct was damaged.’
Meanwhile, Barker’s wife and celebrity Kourtney Kardashian was with him throughout his hospitalization in Los Angeles.
At that time, she said, ‘Oh, what a scary and moving week. Our health is everything and we sometimes take for granted how quickly our health can change. Travis and I went together for routine endoscopy and he eventually developed severe, life-threatening pancreatitis.’
