Trevor Reed, a US Marine who was recently released from Russian custody after spending nearly 1,000 days in Russia, criticized Congressman Marjory Taylor Green for obstructing a vote on a resolution calling for his release.

“Thank you for voting NO on the bill to get American political prisoners out of Russia,” Reed said sarcastically. During a CNN interview with Jake Tapper.

Resolution, H. Res. 186 was introduced in March 2021, A few days before Reed’s trial in a Russian court. However, Greene postponed voting on Reed’s resolution in protest of President Joe Biden’s COVID-19 stimulus package.

“How do you justify that? It’s a shame for me that someone representing the United States would vote against something like this. I’m sure the Russians will like it. I’m a fan of all the congressmen who did that.”

Reed also called this behavior “completely unacceptable.”

“It would be nice to make sure that doesn’t happen again to other Americans,” Reed said.

Reed’s father Joey Reed also attacked Greene and called those who opposed the resolution “that little group of fools” and asked if they had “voted for Putin”.

“Marjorie Taylor Green is not our representative,” Joy Reed said.

Reeds has a critical voice. They said the Marines did not lobby to release the son. They also said they weren’t “Thanks” for Senator Ted Cruz’s lack of support.

Trevor Reed was detained in Moscow in 2019 for attacking Russian police. He is said to have suffered from a broken rib and contracted COVID-19 while in a Russian prison.

He was released on April 27 as part of an exchange of prisoners of war between Russia and the United States. Reed was replaced by Konstantin Yaroshenko, a Russian pilot charged with drug smuggling.

Representatives of the Reed family and Marjorie Taylor Greene did not immediately respond to Insider’s request for comment.
