Veteran pop star Lulu’s age recalls the singer’s coronation of Queen Elizabeth on Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

Lulu shared a new TikTok video that was noticeably moved as she recalled attending the Queen’s coronation. She recalls that the 73-year-old singer was asked to sing her song by her father, who died when she was 4 years old, and she was branded “She’s the Star of the Day.”

She told her 5,600 Twitter followers, “I remember the Queen’s coronation.” In my hometown of Glasgow, where I grew up, there was a street festival when I was four. I also remember getting on her father’s shoulders and singing a song for her queen’s coronation. It went incredibly well like a storm and I was the street celebrity of the day.’

She next sang Dickie Valentine’s In A Golden Coach, but the two verses were melancholy and tearful. Happy Platinum Jubilees, she sighed and whispered.
