Apple VP resigns after making vulgar comments

An Apple spokesperson recently confirmed that Apple’s Vice President Tony Blevins is resigning.

The news came after Blevins made lewd remarks when they were stopped by TikTok and Instagram creator Daniel Mac.

While he parks a Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren for his popular series, Mac approaches Blevins and asks the owner of a cool car what he does for a living.

The content creator said, ‘Good sir, your car is great. what’s your job?’

Instead of saying that he works for Apple, Blevins says, ‘I race cars, I play golf, and I caress big-breasted women. But I take weekends and major holidays off.’

Moreover, Blevins’ words may be a reference to a line from the 1981 film Arthur. Arthur Bach, the billionaire protagonist in the film, has this to say about his career: ‘I race cars, I play tennis, I caress girls, but on weekends I take a break and I’m my own boss.’

According to reports, the video was filmed at an automobile event in August. However, Mac shared it on his social media handle in early September. Nevertheless, the clip has been liked by over 40,000 users on Instagram.

Social media users react to Tony Blevins’ sexual joke

When the news broke that Tony Blevins had been fired for joking, netizens expressed their regret.

One user said, ‘I think Apple fired Tony Blevins, vice president of procurement, because of this video. It’s out of color, but it’s also a loose quote from the movie. It seems overly ‘walkie-footed’ to fire someone for this. I’m worried because I’ve never made such a stupid joke.’

Another netizen said, “Tony Blevins was fired after 22 years. To cite an old movie! Apple is actually playing a waking up “safe space game”. Terrible!!’

Another user said, ‘I love apple products, but I’m very disappointed that the company fired Tony Blevins for citing the movie Arthur during off-hours. A black eye on Apple.’

Meanwhile, Blevins made an official statement about his joke.

“I take this opportunity to sincerely apologize to everyone who may have been offended by my wrong humor,” he said.
