In a video that went viral recently, Kim Burrell appeared to call members of one of Rev. Brian Carn’s churches “ugly”. Details about the video are still not available because the clip’s initial post didn’t specify when and where it was filmed.
The famous gospel singer was shown in a video making controversial claims about churchgoers. Burrell commented on the socioeconomic class of church members. She hinted that they were often poor.
Throughout the sermon, Burrell made numerous jokes on related topics. The 49-year-old Houston native also stopped dramatically after she finished her taunt. As you can see in the video, several audiences burst into laughter at her joke.
What did Kim Burrell say in Pastor Brian Carn’s message to the church audience?
The singer-songwriter mentioned the financial situation and members of the church, but the exact context of what appears to be a joke is unknown. Kim Burrell added:
Sometimes we have to do an interview before making friends. How long have you been in debt? How often do you update the name on your utility bill? How many bills are in your little cousin’s name? Do you live in a house or trailer?
She also praised attendees who came to church without vaccinations or wearing a COVID-19 mask.
Burrell thanked Reverend Brian Carn during his speech by referring to him as “the truth has been embodied.” However, she later appeared to call the believers ‘ugly’. She later saw more jokes about the guest’s appearance in the film, but there wasn’t much applause at the time.
Kim Burrell said:
Most people don’t get angry until they realize a negative fact about themselves and admit it by someone else saying, “Oh, I saw that too.” I just wanted to let you know.”
Netizens react to Kim Burrell’s video.
Everlasting Life’s singer received a lot of heat for the brutal and disgusting comments that Internet users thought of after the video was posted online.
One person commented that Kim Burrell has always had a negative view of Christians. She doesn’t use the platform well or in a positive way. But she is not a god. You have a personal relationship with him. This is not the story of church members. Don’t let anyone deprive you of that opportunity.
If the music stopped, Kim Burrell wouldn’t be able to live the life his song describes, another user said.
I heard that Kim Burrell needs a PR edit… we can help. pic.twitter.com/23F6T3CxgF

Another user called this gaslighting. We call this a non-apple-apple. We call this “double your stupidity.” We call this false responsibility. Essentially I did, but you did to me too. Oh, by the way, the lawyer is ready! How funny Kim Burrell is.
Another addition: Dayyyuum! If you want to play the evil sea witch Ursula, you have to choose Pastor Kim Burrell. Wow Chile, because she is evil and evil and her core is vulgar.
I don’t care how talented singer Kim Burrell is. He once said, “She’s a naughty guy with a terrible edge.”
Kim Burrell has always been bad for Christians. She doesn’t make good use of her own platform or use it to uplift her mood. But she is not a god… She said her relationship with him is personal. It’s not about church people… Don’t allow people to take the experience away from you.

Kim Burrell explains the trending video
Burrell posted a statement on Instagram, trying to characterize it as a joke. She went on to criticize social media posts made after comments on church videos. The singer-songwriter claimed that her slurs against her were spreading after her remarks were reported out of context.
Burrell said in her statement:
“Be careful with what you say or say about me, especially if it is not true. In particular, slander and defamation related to my name, reputation or brand are unacceptable. Hateful remarks and fake narratives were recognized and reported on established pages, and hopefully silenced. Again, I’m sorry if my comedy was viewed as malicious. But I will never tolerate abuse, defamation or defamation.”
This is the first time the singer has been controversial. Kim Burrell has already received a lot of criticism for her comments on the LGBTQ community in 2016.
When the music stops, Kim Burrell certainly isn’t living the life she speaks of in her songs. https://t.co/k784ylNASY

This is called gaslighting. This is what we call a no-apology apple. This is what we call duplication of stupidity. This is what we call fake responsibility. Basically I did it and you all are doing it to me too. Oh and my lawyers are on deck btw! Kim Burrell is a joke. pic.twitter.com/nRX3OGvL7
