On Friday, May 13, members of Katastro confirmed via social media that bandmate Andy J Chaves had passed away. He was only 32 when he died.
Andy’s family has yet to comment on his death, but Pierre, citing a statement from the Newport Beach Police Department, insisted he died in a car accident.
Andy’s death came as a shock to his followers on social media.
Katastro was started by Andy J Chaves.
Andy J Chaves In 2007 he was the lead singer for Katastro, a band he founded in Tempe, Arizona. Andrew Stravers, guitarist Tanner Riccio, and bassist Ryan Weddle form the band.
Andy hid his private life from the public eye.
Katastro has released 6 studio albums and 2 acoustic albums since its founding.
Andy’s Instagram mainly consists of photos and videos of his live performances. On the platform, he has over 14,000 followers.

Andy’s death was confirmed by Kastastro’s bandmate via an Instagram post.
Ryan, Tanner and Andrew Stravers wrote, “We have had to announce the death of our brother and singer Andy Chaves, and we are utterly devastated.” We all start to digest this, so please respect the privacy of Andy’s family and band members. We ask for your support and encouragement.”
Some famous musicians have expressed their appreciation for the comments section of the post. Justin Bushnell said, “I love you guys.” “I’ll help you if you need anything.”

In a previous comment, Futuristic added, “It’s a short time, but I’m grateful that we could get to know each other.”
According to a statement from the Newport Beach Police Department, “a car carrying three people traveling east from the PCH crashed into a median curb and then rushed into road construction equipment.”
“Orange County Sheriff’s Sgt. Scott Steinle identified them as Crystal M. McCallum, 34, of Texas, Wayne Walter Swanson Jr., of Newport Coast, 40, and Andrew James Chaves, 32, of Arizona.”

Meanwhile, Andy’s fans are struggling to accept his death. Many of them said the singer’s death left a void in the music business.
