Filipino comedian and director Philip Lazaro, 51, passed away on July 11. His death was first reported by the local newspaper GMA News Online, which received confirmation from Lazaro’s nephew Chico Lazaro Alinell.

It is said that the day before Lazarus’ death, his nephew went home to see him and saw a middle-aged cartoonist having trouble breathing. According to another account, Lazarus died of various organ failures. However, the underlying cause of organ failure is currently unknown to the general public.

According to his IMDb page, Lazaro made his acting debut in 1995 with a brief appearance on the local TV show Villa Quintana. The seasoned comedian appeared in similar roles in Filipino TV series from the mid-1990s to 2000. He returned to this role in 2009 after a brief break of nearly 10 years.

He did PR on more than 50 episodes of That’s My Amboy in 2016. He played Phillip in five episodes of his last performance, Nagbabagang luha in 2021. Lazaro has over 25 years of experience and has been involved in nearly 30 different projects.

Lazaro has also served as a manager several times. It includes 63 episodes of TV5’s Filipino rival show, Bawal na Game Show. Between 2020 and 2021, he apparently led several episodes of the program. He also directed four episodes of the TV series Dear Uge.
