Celebrity chefs and local eateries boycott Martin’s potato rolls after it was revealed that the famous baker’s family had donated money to conspiracy theorist and Republican nominee for Pennsylvania governor Doug Mastriano. Mastriano’s campaign for governor received $110,000 from Jim Martin, current president and former president of Martin’s Famous Pastry Shoppe. Martin’s wife and daughter were also reported to have joined the campaign.
This information was exposed in April’s Spotlight PA story. Trump supporter Mastriano has been actively promoting his belief that former President Donald Trump will win the 2020 presidential election.
Mastriano is currently a Pennsylvania State Senator. He was a key figure in revoking the Pennsylvania voting machine after the 2020 election. He is also said to have tried to convince his lawmakers to ignore the state’s election results and appoint his own winners. Mastriano reposted his own video comparing gun control laws to Nazi Germany after the deadly massacre at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde.
