Rudy Giuliani is embroiled in another legal problem after his ex-wife sued him.
Here’s everything you need to know.
Rudy Giuliani sued by ex-wife
Rudy Giuliani’s ex-wife, Judith Giuliani, filed new court papers with the New York State Supreme Court on Tuesday.
Documents claim that Judith withheld the $262,000 that Rudy had to pay under the divorce agreement.
Court documents state that ‘Failure to appear in court may result in immediate arrest or imprisonment for contempt of court.’
What does $262,000 cover?
$262,000 includes Palm Beach condo fee, private club fee and housekeeper.
Rudy claims he owes Judith $140,000 to live on South Lake Drive in Palm Beach. She has been trying to sell her fortune.
Judith also claims in the document that Rudy ‘must pay me $200,000 regardless of whether the property was sold or not’. She added that he only gave her her $60,000.
Judith also noted that Rudy would have to pay Rudy’s stake in the country club after he didn’t ‘pay half of the annual membership dues’.
She said ‘to maintain a good relationship with the club… She wants her own money to be rewarded.
In addition, Rudy had to pay $5,000 a month for “help” such as a helper or housekeeper.
However, Judith asserts that since last summer, Rudy has ‘inconsistent and sporadic payments to me in June 2021, including a check for $10,000 returned due to lack of funds.’ She said in documents that he currently owes $45,000 for help.
Judith was married to Rudy for 15 years before officially filing for divorce in April 2018.
Meanwhile, Rudy is in a legal battle with his ex-wife after he was ordered to stand before a special Georgia grand jury over allegations that former President Donald Trump tried to overturn the 2020 election results.
Rudy has also been suspended from legal licenses in New York City and Washington DC for facing ethical charges of ‘false election allegations’.
Dominion Voting Systems also sued former New York Mayor for $1.3 billion alleging that the voting machine was rigged.
