Who Was Pany Serrano? Famous makeup artist dies at 72

Makeup artist Fanny Serrano died Tuesday. Tita Fanny, or TF, was one of the most well-known beauty experts in the industry.

On a Facebook page today, Designers Circle Philippines confirmed his death. The majority of members of the association are Filipino fashion designers. They paid tribute to the beauty and fashion icon with posts like:

“Today is a sad day for the entire fashion and beauty business.” Pioneers, geniuses, and creativity are all gone. On the other hand, Designers Circle Philippines has lost our guide, inspiration and friend, the only ‘TF’, Tita Fanny Serrano. TF, rest in strength and beauty! We will forever be grateful and privileged to have known a true Filipino idol for the rest of our lives.”

Serrano’s family also confirmed the death of the 72-year-old on Facebook. In an old’s Facebook post, Martin Miranda revealed the death of his father:

“It’s with a heavy heart to let everyone know that my father Felix Mariano Fausto Jr. nicknamed Fanny Serrano has quietly joined our producers in our quiet home around MNL last night.”

According to the message, families are being comforted by the pouring support. They were also happy to see some “celebrating his life” fans.

In March 2021, the makeup artist suffered a stroke and received life-sustaining treatment. Serrano’s friend and megastar Sharon Cuneta reported that he was receiving treatment at home two months later. According to the Manila Times, his health tragically deteriorated after returning home. The cause of death was unknown at the time the Manila Times report was written.


Another Filipino fashion and beauty icon paid tribute to Serrano on social media. In a Facebook post, Dave Ocampo and Domz Ramos said:

In addition to a well-known beauty and fashion icon, Serrano has appeared in several films. He has appeared in films such as Babangon Ako’t Dudurugin Kita and Tarima, released in 1989 and 2010.
